About Us
Amra Sobuj is a Bengali theater group of Bolpur, Birbhum. The group was founded on December 2003. The group has totally been committed to develop the positive human relationship, confidence and solidarity in the midst of the young generation through theatre. Amra Sobuj emphasize the necessity of theatre workshop so that the group arranges various workshops on many levels and opens to anyone who wants to explore and develop their personal creative power in the art of acting.

Stream of Activities
Theatre Festival
Theatre Festival of AMRA SABUJ was started in 2005 and continued till present year. It is arranged annually in Bolpur and in Santiniketan. After the death of our beloved Actrss Purnima Banerjee we have been going to observe our annual festival on 29th November in occasion of her birthday. Now the festival is held at our Theatre Village “NIVRITA PURNIMA NATYAGRAM”.Besides our theatre festival there are so many festivals are arranged throughout whole year. The festival ‘FAGUNE AGUN’ is organized in occasion of Basantotsav, and the festival ‘KASH-AKASHE’ is organized in occasion of Saradotsov.
Workshops
Amra sabuj is one of the eminent groups who emphasized its full concentration on workshop-based improvised production. So Amra Sabuj organizes several workshops throughout the year. There have been workshops for adult and for kids. The aim of our workshop is to help each student to develop his or her potential for self-expression and communication and to help each student understand and appreciate the art of Acting. Understanding the basic foundation of constructing a character for a role is important to instill in young acting students. We’ve shared some tips on acting games that concentrate on improvisational acting and also actor warm up exercises.

Despite huge obstacle Amra Sabuj believe on group work. Without good association desired group work not possible. So getting in touch with others is our mission. We are in Santiniketan with excellent natural beauty. To get in touch with nature, then get in touch with us. We think that we get in touch with the world and others through our theatrical meaningful work.
Events
As a group Amra Sabuj always in full of events. The group leads its life with an exciting account of an eventful existence. There are various events took place in our campus throughout the year. Such as Ekushe February – BHASA DIBASH, 12th April – PATHA NATAK DIBASH, 25 Baisakh- KOBIDIBASH, 27th March- BISWA NATYA DIBAS etc. In addition with these dates the festival ‘FAGUNE AGUN’ is organized in occasion of Basantotsav, and the festival ‘KASH-AKASHE’ are organized in occasion of Saradotsov. The children section of Amra Sabuj organiza their festive in occasion of ‘SISU DIBAS’ on 14th November.
